THE LIVER, LIGHT & CLARITY

The liver cleanses the blood, in doing so it brings us an emotional experience of lightness and clarity. When liver energy is healthy we plan forward and have a clear vision of where we are going. In this way the liver inspires our faith and hope for the future. A sense of trust in what we can become, and a hope for what we can create, brings us motivation to drive ourselves forward.

One of the first places I look when someone’s drive is low is the liver. Low motivation, lack of hope, lack of faith, an inability to see where we are going in life, physical issues with the eyes and limitations on our inner vision can all be connected to an imbalance in the liver energy. When the liver energy is struggling, moving through life feels like trying to move through treacle. Looking forward can also feel like trying to look through dense, thick fog.

THE LIVER’S DRIVE

We move ourselves forward with an energy drive that comes from the Liver. If we drive in a direction that is not designed for us, the Liver’s energy gets misused and exhausted. The liver is a sensitive organ which is highly responsive to stress. Following a vision aligned with our personal design allows the liver to support us best, then it spurs us forward in the healthiest way.

First the liver must be in a healthy place so it can gift us with that vision. For that we must create space to receive that vision. When we stop to receive that vision, we disconnect from overdrive. This allows a greater divine influence to seep through. We let go of where we ‘think’ we should be and open to our aligned path. Then the liver can carry us forward.

THE LIVER & ANGER

Anger and frustration arise when our efforts to move forward in life feel stifled. This anger tends to be held in the Liver, and it is an indication that the Livers energy flow is out of balance. When we follow an unaligned path, or if we can’t see where we are going, frustration is the red flag that we have lost our way.

Being angry with life takes a lot of energy. It may hold us together for a while, but eventually the body must transform the pain underneath this resistance into something more nourishing. Initially it may be easier to be angry with something external, than to experience grief about what we have created. Eventually we must find a way to accept what’s underneath our anger if we want to remain healthy.

If we try to push forward with anger, we can drive ourselves into the ground. We lose an aligned vision of where we are going. In these moments we need to let go, rest and reorientate our vision of what we are driving ourselves towards. When we open ourselves to receive a new vision, we can become more aligned and in touch with the Livers genuine inspiration before taking our next step

THE LIVER’S RELATIONSHIP TO THE CHAKRAS

The liver sits in the Solar Plexus Chakra area where it plays a role in digesting our experiences. When we break down our experiences, we receive a clear vision of what we have created for ourselves. With this ‘birds eye view’ in our Brow Chakra, we gain an understanding of what we are learning. This understanding enables us to ground through our Root Chakra, let go and evolve onto the next stage.

The quality of our bird’s eye view in the Brow, depends on the emotional clarity gained from the Liver in the Solar Plexus. These two chakras are two sides of the same coin, and the Liver plays a huge part in their inter-relationship. This is why the liver is so deeply connected to our sense of clear sight on an inner and outer plane.

BALANCING THE LIVER ENERGY

Healthy liver energy brings hope, clarity, the ability to expand and the motivation to move in new directions. It is a highly spiritual organ, connected with the experience of light and faith. When we look after it, it helps us to forge a path forward and evolve beyond what we know.

We can practically address imbalances in the liver by resting, and reducing the level of fat and toxins taken into the body. Clearing the belief systems that cause us to go into overdrive will also help the liver to recoup. This generally means disconnecting from where we think we have to be, in order to receive the vision of what we are actually designed to express. This vision is not always what we expect, but it’s what will bring us the most fulfillment on every level.
